ARLINGTON, VA. — The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) opened nominations for its Friend of Pet Food Award on July 12. The winner of the award will be recognized at AFIA’s Pet Food Conference on Jan. 24, 2023, held in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta.
Launched in 2019, the Friend of Pet Food award recognizes professionals who have made significant contributions to aid in the growth of the pet food industry. Nominees of the award should be currently employed or active in the pet food industry or in an associated industry, like new product development, transportation, regulatory, academia, media and others.
Nominations will close Sept. 2.
“With every passing year, we learn more and more on how we can deliver safe, innovative products to keep our pets fed sustainably into the future,” said Louise Calderwood, director of regulatory affairs at AFIA. “Developments in pet health and nutrition wouldn't be possible without the dedication of talented individuals and their research. The AFIA Friend of Pet Food Award is a great opportunity to nominate someone who is going the extra mile for the betterment of pet nutrition and the industry.”
