OAKLAND, CALIF. — On July 13, Petaluma was named among the 2022 Best for the World B Corp by B Lab, a global community of environmentally friendly B Corporations. The pet food company was recognized for its commitment to the environment, placing the company within the top 5% of Certified B Corps.

Petaluma formulates plant-based pet food products to help reduce the pet industry’s negative impacts on the environment. According to the company, plant-based ingredients offer many sustainability benefits, like using less land and water and reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to factory-farmed animal proteins and other resource-intensive ingredients.

The pet food company was recognized by B Lab based on its high B Impact Score. The Best for the World recognition is awarded to companies the meet exceedingly high standards of social and environmental practices.

According to B Lab, there are more than 5,000 B Corps spanning 80 countries and 155 industries.
