SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. — On June 8, Simmons Foods announced the recipients of the 2022 M.H. “Bill” Simmons Memorial Scholarship program. The program awarded 67 high school graduates with nearly $120,000 in scholarships.
The M.H. “Bill” Simmons Memorial Scholarship was founded in 1979 by Mark Simmons, chairman of the board at Simmons Foods, and was named after the late Bill Simmons, founder of Simmons Foods. The scholarship program strives to assist the educational endeavors of children of Simmons’ employees.
“The M.H. ‘Bill’ Simmons Memorial Scholarship is an example of the value we place on education and our family of Simmons team members,” Mark Simmons said. “Each year, we are encouraged to see a new group of optimistic and hard-working students take that next step to continue their education. We are proud to lend this support to the next generation of individuals, leaders and innovators who will ensure a bright future for food production and agriculture.”
Since its founding, almost 1,200 students have received more than $1.4 million in scholarships through the M.H. “Bill” Simmons Memorial Scholarship program.
As well as the scholarship program, Simmons Foods and its subsidiaries, like Simmons Pet Foods, offer a variety of educational programs and initiatives, including paid internships, tuition reimbursements, on-the-job training and more to advance people’s careers.
