GUELPH, ONTARIO — Ren’s Pets was recognized by the Retail Council of Canada’s (RCC) Excellence in Retailing Awards for its omni-channel retail program. The RCC recognition marks the retailer’s first award from a prestigious association.
RCC’s omni-channel award recognizes retailers who sell through a combination of sales channels, including brick-and-mortar, online, mobile and others.
“This is an extraordinary achievement for Ren’s, and we’re just thrilled to have won this significant award from the RCC this year,” said Scott Arsenault, chief executive officer of Ren’s Pets. “As our business continues to grow, we’ve put tremendous effort into ensuring our customers have a full omni-channel experience with Ren’s and can shop the way they prefer to for their pets.
“We’ve invested heavily not only in our brick-and-mortar store expansion, but also in our website and other online platforms and programs,” Arsenault added. “Having a seamless integrated channel experience for our customers is key for our future as we continue to be there for your pet’s best life.”
Ren’s submitted its “Fetch Your Favorites” campaign, a same-day delivery program in partnership with DoorDash, which ran fall of 2021. The program helped consumers during the pandemic, providing them with the convenience of same-day home delivery for pet food and supplies.
“We’re so excited about this RCC win, especially because it was in the omni-channel category,” said Larissa Wasyliw, vice president of e-commerce and marketing at Ren’s Pets. “Implementing same-day delivery powered by DoorDash was a logical next step for Ren’s to improve our omni-channel capabilities.
“We offer order online, pick-up in-store, and ship to home, and knew our customers were looking for a quick, easy, convenient option for same-day deliveries as well,” Wasyliw added. “In particular, our customers in the Toronto area plus those wanting their raw, frozen food delivered. DoorDash has been an excellent partner for us, and we’ve delivered hundreds of orders to the doorsteps of happy pet parents.”
