CHICAGO — JBT Corporation, a technology solutions provider to a variety of industries, launched its new retort sterilization system: SuperCRss™. The new system uses saturated steam technology coupled with customization options for robust automation.
The SuperCRss can process steel and aluminum cans of various sizes, shapes and volumes, including large foodservice products to retail-sized containers. The system is capable of handling a wide variety of food products, including beans, tuna, tomatoes, pet food formulas and other products that need a static thermal process.
According to JBT, SuperCRss would ideally be used in combination with automatic loading and unloading equipment.
“The creation of SuperCRss provides customers a modern solution to effectively utilize saturated steam retort technology,” said Rick Wilson, global product line director at JBT Corporation. “We’re constantly searching for new technologies for customers across the globe, and JBT is pleased to do this once more through SuperCRss.”
The new SuperCRss includes JBT’s LOG-TEC™, a processing management system, to provide optimal processing through venting, cooking and cooling. LOG-TEC can also help ensure uniformity of product quality. The addition of LOG-TEC provides consumers of SuperCRss with food safety, traceability, automation and other capabilities.
JBT’s SuperCRss also boasts a Basket Tracking System (BTS), which collects data from all produced batches or retort loads for analysis and tracking. The BTS helps ensure that all product is sterilized prior to leaving automatic batch retort systems (ABRS).
