GUADALAJARA, MEXICO — Kemin Industries opened its new distribution facility in Guadalajara on May 26, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 17. The new 36,000-square-foot facility boasts office spaces, conference rooms and a distribution warehouse.
According to Kemin, it has been expanding its presence in Mexico and Central America with the new facility set to improve Kemin’s services and solutions for customers in the area.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Libby Nelson and Kimberly Nelson, founders of Kemin; Patrick Krissek, principal commercial officer from the US Commercial Service division of the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration; Juan Herrera, senior commercial specialist from the US Commercial Service division of the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration; and Alfonso Ruíz Cobo, general director of the Mexican Dairy Federation.
The new facility will support Kemin’s Animal Nutrition and Health, Pet Food and Rendering Technologies and Food Technologies divisions.
To support the new facility and its growing presence in Mexico, Kemin has updated its leadership team. The company has appointed Alejandro Romero to country manager for Kemin Mexico, and promoted Guillermo Garcia to operations manager for Kemin Mexico and Gloria Noriega to senior regulatory affairs manager for Mexico and Central America. Romero will lead Kemin’s sales team in Mexico and Noriega will serve as the company’s official government liaison and will also represent the company in Mexico’s National Council of Manufacturers of Balanced Food and Animal Nutrition (CONAFAB).
"Our new, enhanced facilities greatly support our long-term business goals and will uniquely position Kemin within Mexico and Central America," Romero said. "These new facilities are just one of many ways Kemin is investing in this market to continue to provide the highest-quality services and personalized solutions to our customers."
The facility’s distribution warehouse has a capacity of more than 1,000 tons of ingredients and products and also includes a Kemin Application Solutions (KAS) area, allowing the company to build, pilot and showcase innovative new systems.
"The Kemin Mexico team is excited about the opportunity to expand our footprint, grow our team and offer more solution-oriented products to our customers in the Mexico and Central America regions," Garcia said.
