CHICAGO — TC Transcontinental Packaging received accreditation from the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) early this month for its leadership in corporate social responsibility. According to TC Transcontinental, it remains committed to helping create a more sustainable pet industry through circular solutions for flexible plastic packaging.
TC Transcontinental was recognized for its investments in the wellness of its employees, adoption of operational practices that limit environmental impact, innovation of more sustainable products and contributions to local communities.
“As a member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, the PSC Packaging Pledge, and a signator of the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, we believe that in order to have a positive impact for pets, people and the planet, we need to collaborate with brands, associations, governments and supply chain partnerships.” said Thomas Morin, president of TC Transcontinental.
For 45 years, the company has remained dedicated to fostering sustainability within the pet industry. In 2019, TC Transcontinental launched VieVERTe®, a portfolio of sustainable, flexible packaging, which is pre-approved for How-to-Recycle certifications and can be customized to include post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials. The company has also been recognized for its sustainable film innovations, investments in R&D technology and testing, recycling efforts and more within Corporate Knights’ 2022 list of 100 most sustainable corporations, ranking No. 1 in the packaging industry.
TC Transcontinental also announced its goal to transition to 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable flexible packaging by 2025 to further advance sustainability within the industry.
