SAN FRANCISCO — On March 10, the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) awarded Belstra Milling’s plant in DeMotte, Ind., as the 2021 Premix/Ingredient Feed Facility of the Year at AFIA’s Purchasing and Ingredient Supplier Conference (PISC).
“Belstra Milling is a company built on a solid foundation of core values such as integrity, quality and service, and those values shine through when making feed and taking care of their customers,” said Gary Huddleston, director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs, AFIA. “Belstra prides itself on manufacturing the freshest, highest-quality feed available, and I am honored to present them with this prestigious industry award.”
A family- and employee-owned company, Belstra Milling manufactures feed for a variety of industries, including dairy, farming and pet food. With just 12 employees, the company manufactures about 80,000 tons of feed premixes annually. According to AFIA, Belstra Milling stood out for its innovative HVAC system that aids in processing hard-to-handle ingredients.
“This award is a credit to all of the hard work and dedication that all our employees put in day-in and day-out,” said Drew Mellon, vice president of feed production, Belstra Milling. “Without them, this would not be possible, so thank you all.”
