LOS ANGELES — On March 9, Action Point Inc. (Action Packaging) and Signature Flexible Packaging, Inc., announced the acquisition of Techflex Packaging, LLC. The combined companies will now be known as Dazpak Flexible Packaging.
“We look forward to the strategic alliance with Action and Signature,” said Burt Siegelman, co-owner, Techflex. “Techflex has been doing business with the Company for over two decades and it’s extremely exciting to finally bring our businesses together.”
California-based Techflex develops pouch converting packaging for the medical, human and pet food industries. The acquisition will expand upon Action Packaging and Signature’s combined offerings, providing its customers with more flexible packaging capabilities.
Combined, Action Packaging and Signature are an H.I.G. Capital portfolio company.
“We are thrilled to support this strategic investment,” said Ryan Kaplan, managing director, H.I.G. Capital. “Techflex’s pouch converting capabilities represents a natural expansion of the company’s existing capabilities on the West Coast.”
In conjunction with the acquisition, Action Packaging, Signature, Techflex and its Chromatic brand have rebranded to Dazpak Flexible Packaging, an integrated flexible packaging platform. The newly rebranded company will provide premier, high-quality, flexible high-barrier packaging.
“We created Dazpak to take the friction out of the packaging process, making it easier and faster for our customers to get their product to market in high quality packaging,” said John Attayek, chief executive officer, Dazpak. “We’ve integrated the significant leadership, experience and talent from these companies, to bring our expertise in design, manufacturing, printing, and converting together under a single brand that delivers more value, service and choice to our customers.”
Dazpak will operate four facilities throughout Southern California, developing a full spectrum of flexible packaging, including stand-up zipper pouches, stick packs and sachets, shrink sleeves, and other pouches, bags and more.
