RYE, N.Y. — Raised Right, a family-owned, human-grade pet food company, recently announced it is now certified Plastic Neutral through a partnership with rePurpose Global. The company will fund the removal of as much plastic from the environment as it produces.
“We’re thrilled to partner with rePurpose Global in their effort to tackle a $30 billion-per-year funding gap that plagues recycling supply chains worldwide, in addition to providing a crucial income stream for waste workers and their families,” said Braeden Ruud, co-founder and chief executive officer, Raised Right. “Through this initiative, we’re supporting waste management projects that collect and process hard-to-recycle waste streams otherwise too low in value to be reclaimed from the environment.”
rePurpose Global is a leading Plastic Action Platform committed to helping companies pursue environmental action worldwide. The company’s environmental reach expands across 26 countries and has helped more than 100 brands. It offers different certifications to companies, all dedicated to removing more plastic from the environment.
“Now more than ever, we need brands to take responsibility for the global plastic epidemic,” said Svanika Balasubramanian, co-founder and chief executive officer, rePurpose Global. “We’re proud to announce that Raised Right has taken a commendable step towards creating change by becoming certified Plastic Neutral with rePurpose Global and facilitating the removal of nature-bound plastic.”
Becoming plastic neutral isn’t the only move Raised Right has made toward environmental sustainability. The company also recently partnered with Carbonfund.org to help offset carbon emissions from its home delivery shipments through reforestation and forest preservation efforts. Raised Right’s shipping boxes and materials are also recyclable and compostable, another step it has taken towards helping the environment.
