AUSTIN, TEXAS — A Pup Above, a sous-vide style dog food brand based in Texas, announced Dec. 10 it has expanded distribution in the southwestern United States through a partnership with Rio Grande Service Center.

Rio Grande will begin distributing A Pup Above products to independent pet retailers in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and El Paso, Texas in January 2022.

“A Pup Above is very excited to expand its distribution in the Southwest with Rio Grande Service Center, a family owned and operated company of 35 years,” said Javier Marriott, co-founder and president of A Pup Above. “Rio Grande Service Center has an incredibly dedicated and passionate sales and operations team that provides exceptional service to both vendors and customers.”

This latest partnership brings A Pup Above’s total US distribution to more than 700 pet stores. The company has set a goal to reach 3,000 stores by the end of 2022.

“We are proud to support and partner exclusively with the neighborhood pet channel to grow the gently cooked category,” Marriott said. “We have developed an educational program to help our brand and the gently cooked category flourish in pet stores. This program strives to make it as easy as possible for store employees and customers to learn about our products.”
