OMAHA, NEB. — Scoular announced Sept. 29 it has appointed Megan Belcher to its board of directors. Belcher is a C-suite executive with vast experience in risk management, compliance, corporate governance, human resources and inclusion. She has served as chief legal and external affairs officer within Scoular since 2017.
“Megan is a proactive, results-driven leader,” said David Faith, chairman of the board. “She has led our company and board in numerous capacities, consistently operating with high integrity, driving results and creating a culture that will enable Scoular’s growth and prosperity.”
Belcher brings more than 20 years of both private and public sector experience to the Scoular board of directors, including in the agricultural, commodities, food ingredients and consumer food industries. She began an in-house legal career in 2007 after having previously worked in a private law practice representing large companies.
In her chief officer role with Scoular, Belcher manages legal, brand marketing and corporate communications, as well as sustainability and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) activities. She also oversees governance and management work for the board as corporate secretary.
Belcher founded the Scoular Women Influencing Culture group, the company’s first employee resource group. Additionally, she is a Scoular Foundation Trustee and a National Association of Corporate Directors Governance Fellow, and has received national recognition for her expertise throughout her career.
For example, she was recognized for her contributions to the Omaha community by the Women’s Center for Advancement earlier in 2021.
Belcher graduated from the University of Missouri and Boston College Law School.
