BOULDER, COLO. — Although hopes ran high for a hybrid in-person and virtual conference, the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) announced Sept. 1 it has decided to hold its annual Impact Unleashed event entirely online this year.
“PSC continues to lead through challenging times and this year we watched carefully developments of the COVID-19 Delta variant,” the organization stated in an email sent Sept. 1. “Our primary consideration is keeping PSC members, speakers, attendees and community safe and healthy. After surveying our members, we have determined that the safest way to deliver the exceptional content at Impact Unleashed is through a completely virtual event again this year.”
Pet food, treat and product manufacturers and suppliers are invited to attend Impact Unleashed Reunited on Oct. 12 and 13 to network and learn about sustainable action steps, strategies and tools available to make the pet industry more environmentally friendly.
The virtual conference will offer a variety of workshops, presentations and networking opportunities to help pet industry professionals engage with each other over sustainability. Collaboration, education and implementation are all key tenets of the event and of PSC’s overall mission.
Impact Unleashed was also held virtually last year. PSC reported the online event drew above-average attendance and positive engagement in 2020.
“This two-day event inspires purpose-driven leaders like you to meet the growing demand for sustainable products and companies,” PSC stated. “Last year, in the midst of lockdowns and travel restrictions, we pivoted quickly to offer Impact Unleashed in a virtual format. The result was four-times growth in attendance and outstanding ratings and reviews. With the event being virtual again this year, it gives the opportunity for more members to attend.”
