MEQUON, WIS. — Fromm Family Foods has introduced its latest complete-and-balanced dog food formula: Four-Star Nutritionals Trout & Whitefish Recipe, which will officially hit store shelves in August.
The grain-inclusive recipe includes whole barley and whole oats to support gut health, as well as trout, whitefish, salmon, egg and Menhaden fish meal. The formula is chicken- and potato-free.
“Our Four-Star Nutritionals product line provides premium, diverse recipes for pets that are inspired by flavors from around the globe,” said Bryan Nieman, brand director at Fromm Family Foods. “The launch of Trout & Whitefish Recipe for cats was very well-received, and we’re thrilled to be bringing this recipe to our Four-Star canine offerings.”
Fromm’s new Trout & Whitefish Recipe is the company’s first to include Miscanthus grass, an emerging ingredient in the pet food category serving as a key, sustainable source of insoluble fiber. The ingredient can help promote consistent stool and bowel regulation.
The formula also includes canola and salmon oils, which deliver beneficial fatty acids to support skin and coat health.
The dog food is appropriate for all breeds and life stages, including puppy and senior dogs. Fromm stated that, because trout and whitefish proteins are naturally lower in fat and calories, the diet is suitable for less active dogs.
Fromm Family Foods is a fifth-generation dog and cat food and treat manufacturer producing its own products in the United States. Its products are sold exclusively through independent pet retailers across the country.
