SAN DIEGO — Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. will host its inaugural Sustainability Vendor Summit on Sept. 22 to connect its merchandising team with sustainable pet products. This is in support of the retailer’s mission to increase its sustainable pet product assortment to 50% of all products by the end of 2025.
The Summit will be held virtually in partnership with ECRM and RangeMe, two businesses working to connect product manufacturers and suppliers to retailers.
"We look forward to hosting vendors that share our commitment to preserving the health and wellness of pets, people and the planet we share," said Nick Konat, chief merchandising officer at Petco. "As a health and wellness company, we're acutely aware of our collective impact on our planet's natural resources, and committed to actively driving positive change within our business and industry. Petco's Sustainability Vendor Summit will help us accelerate efforts to increase our assortment of sustainable products in close partnership with brands and manufacturers who are also passionate about improving lives."
Petco has established five pillars of sustainability for the company, which prioritize products manufactured with sustainability in mind, products containing sustainably sourced materials and ingredients, products with eco-friendly or responsible packaging, and products that speak to animal welfare.
Vendors interested in participating in the Summit can submit their product information at rangeme.com/petcosustainability before midnight on Aug. 11.
