YORK, PA. — JLS Automation will exhibit its Peregrine® robotic cartoning systems at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, scheduled from Sept. 27 to 29. The systems are designed to simplify the cartoning process and achieve in-line carton closing within a small operational footprint.
The company’s Peregrine solutions use proprietary technologies to provide full carton control from forming through closing.
The systems can run at high speeds without turns or conveyors, instead using a JLS TRAK™ high-speed carton management system in conjunction with the Peregrine positive carton transport (PCT™) mechanism. This eliminates the need for additional conveyors, JLS stated, and results in a compact system.
First, cartons are loaded onto the JLS TRAK, where they are moved along via a robotic, vision-guided mechanism that simultaneously closes, picks up and places the carton on a discharge conveyor to move downstream. This streamlined process reduces dependence on carton plows, tucker wheels or additional conveyors, the company said.
JLS Automation will be running the Peregrine system live at PACK EXPO at booth LS-6128.
