STAMFORD, CONN. — Canidae hopes to bolster its national team through a talent acquisition strategy developed in partnership with Talent Works, a recruitment processing outsourcing (RPO) provider. The pet food company moved its headquarters from Norco, Calif. to Stamford in 2020 and is experiencing a “significant increase in demand” for its sales and marketing positions.
Talent Works’ RPO strategy is expected to help Canidae navigate Connecticut’s job market as it searches for corporate leaders at its headquarters and to fill nationwide sales positions. Aside from filling sales, marketing and corporate positions, Talent Works will also work with Canidae to recruit for manufacturing roles at its Brownwood, Texas research and development facility.
“We’re on a mission to make a difference to our consumers and the planet, and that starts with our people, who are the bedrock of our organization,” said Bret Furio, chief executive officer of Canidae. “We’re looking forward to our biggest year ever, and we’re pleased to be working with Talent Works. The team at Talent Works is managing a flexible and sustainable RPO strategy that is attracting and securing the talent we need, at Stamford, Brownwood, and across other locations nationwide. It’s reassuring to have Talent Works in place that will help us to grow as we navigate uncharted territory.”
In April, Canidae hired two senior leaders to support its continued growth aspirations. Dana Paris joined the company as its first-ever chief marketing officer, and Jacopo D’Alessandris was appointed chief customer officer.
Talent Works will work with Canidae’s in-house hiring team to roll out new systems, training programs and an applicant tracking technology as it gears up for national growth.
“The value of this flexible RPO relationship for our business is that it allows us to focus on growth and success, not recruiting,” Karen Casey, head of people and culture at Canidae. “This future-proof, flexible RPO model has allowed for an ebb and flow in talent acquisition that has catered to the needs of the business, even amid a time of continuous change.”
Jody Robie, senior vice president and shareholder at Talent Works North America, added, “It is a perfect example of just how well the RPO relationship can work in terms of being agile and helping companies to reach out to the right talent when a natural talent pool may not be present. We’re enjoying supporting the team to help meet their new hiring requirements and seeing demonstrable results as the business grows.”
