SPRINGDALE, ARK. — Tyson Pet Products, Inc. has added two new jerky options in its Nudges® Natural Dog Treats line: Jerky Bones and Jerky Chews.
Jerky Bones offer a longer-lasting treat option. Jerky Chews add to the brand’s existing line of Signature Soft Chews.
The Jerky Bones include real protein at the center, wrapped with a chicken-flavored coating and a light savory glaze, according to Tyson. They are available in one size, medium, and sold in bags of seven.
Nudges’ new flavor of Jerky Chews beefs up its Signature Soft Chews portfolio, featuring a hardened beef center wrapped in chewy beef coating. Beef used in these treats is sourced in the United States. These treats are available in a small size and sold in bags of 10.
"When pet parents are searching for treats for their dogs, they want to ensure that they are high quality and made with the finest ingredients," said Jay Lefforge, senior brand manager at Nudges Natural Dog Treats. "Jerky Bones and Jerky Chews are all-natural and rawhide free, making them easy for dogs to digest, while also keeping them entertained with a tough, but tasty texture."
On May 14, General Mills announced its intentions to acquire Tyson Pet Products for $1.2 billion, including a dog treat manufacturing facility in Independence, Iowa. Tyson Pet Products had sales of more than $240 million in the 12 months ending April 3, the company reported.
