SAN DIEGO — Petco, the Health + Wellness Co., announced Dec. 10 it has made improvements to its website and mobile app, as well as expanded its online customer tools including same-day delivery. The pet retailer’s same-day, contactless delivery service is now available nationwide through DoorDash Drive.
"Consumers want more than a transactional relationship with the companies they do business with," said Darren MacDonald, chief digital and innovation officer at Petco. "They want deeper, richer experiences, as well as more convenient ways to shop. We think same-day delivery is a huge win for pet parents and the latest step on our journey to meet their needs like no one else can."
Same-day DoorDash deliveries are free for purchases of more than $35. It can be accessed through the Petco website or mobile app at checkout. Orders placed before 2 p.m. will be delivered on the same day, and orders placed after 2 p.m. will be delivered the following day.
Carly Brush, director and general manager of retail fulfillment at DoorDash, added, "Now more than ever, consumers are craving rich online experiences that prioritize ease of use and convenience… During a holiday season like never before, Petco customers can now access all their pet's health and wellness needs instantly from the comfort of their homes."
The retailer’s website features e-commerce improvements, faster load times and more product and pet health information. The new website design is focused on health and wellness for pets, and offers information about in-store and curbside purchases, as well as in-store inventories and services.
Petco has launched a few new digital features, including online training services and a Right Food Finder tool, which allows pet owners to browse pet food options based on age, breed and other health preferences.
The new Petco mobile app also a reminders feature, in which pet owners can set reminders and receive push notifications on when to purchase pet care items and services, such as dental chews, flea and tick treatments, food and treats, and vaccinations.
