DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. — Duravant LLC, a global family of food processing, packaging and material handling brands, announced Dec. 1 it has completed its acquisition of Cloud Packaging Solutions. Des Plaines-based Cloud is a leading manufacturer of high-speed horizontal flexible packaging machines, according to Duravant.

The agreement between Duravant and Hearthside Food Solutions, the previous parent company of Cloud Packaging Solutions, was first announced Nov. 16. Following the acquisition, Duravant will rebrand its operating company, Mespack, to Mespack-Cloud, integrating the two company’s packaging equipment portfolios.

“There is an extremely strong connection between our two organizations,” said Guillem Clofent, managing director of Mespack. “We’re thrilled to partner with Cloud and work together under an aligned go-to-market strategy. Both Mespack and Mespack-Cloud equipment will be available through the Mespack global sales team.”

The acquisition expands Duravant’s global reach across more than 190 countries and multiple sectors, including pet food.

Cloud Packaging Solutions’ flexible packaging and filling equipment is recognized as an industry leader. The company has an 80-year history and currently operates in North America, Europe and Asia.
