STAMFORD, CONN. — The American Pet Products Association will host a virtual “Business Bootcamp” from Nov. 10 to 12.
The three-day Bootcamp will cover essential topics in three major areas: business basics, pet industry-specific business acumen, and strategies for growth. The entire program will include 15 sessions with presentations, virtual panel discussions and Q&A opportunities spanning more than three hours per day.
Sessions will begin at noon and end at 3 p.m. EST each day of the Bootcamp. A deeper look at topics shows discussions on product costing, pricing and margin calculations, patent procurement, legislative and regulatory factors, marketing differentiation, trade show participation, e-commerce strategy and several other areas. The Bootcamp will conclude with a virtual networking event beginning 5 p.m. EST.
“This new Bootcamp is designed to provide valuable resources for companies of all sizes, and especially individuals who are new to the Association and the pet industry,” said Steve King, chief executive officer of APPA. “With the education and information gained from the program, we have no doubt participants will gain valuable insights and a deeper understanding and connection to the pet care community. This is just another way APPA is supporting members with essential tools needed to succeed in this incredible industry.”
Following the Bootcamp, APPA will provide free resources, otherwise valued at $1,000, on business strategy to participating pet industry professionals. Resources include customized data reports based on APPA’s latest National Pet Owners Survey, a resource list of industry experts, retailers and distributors, contacts for trade groups and media contacts, and a free one-hour consultation with PetsPhD, APPA’s partner in developing content for the Bootcamp.
Cost of the course is $399 for APPA members and $550 for non-members. Companies that register for membership with APPA before Oct. 29 will receive a 25% discount on registration.
