PHOENIX — Leading pet product retailer PetSmart announced Sept. 9 a new partnership with DoorDash to expand its on-demand, same-day delivery service across more than 1,400 retail locations in the United States.
"We understand that our customers need many different shopping options during this time, so ensuring they can make those purchases however they need is important to us," said Will Smith, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of PetSmart. "We're pleased to partner with DoorDash, together providing pet parents with an even more accessible shopping experience."
This partnership with DoorDash will allow pet owners to place same-day delivery orders on PetSmart.com and through PetSmart’s mobile app, beginning later this week. Deliveries will be free through Sept. 20.
"The pandemic has pulled the future forward for retail, where changes that once might have taken three years have instead happened in three months," said Casey North, vice president of DoorDash. "We're thrilled to partner with PetSmart, marking our entry into the pet retail space, to power their store-to-door delivery experience and provide pet owners with the animal essentials they need on demand."
All products on PetSmart’s e-commerce platform will be available to order through DoorDash, including pet food, products and other essentials. DoorDash will offer contactless delivery to ensure consumer safety.
