EASTON, PA. and IRVING, TEXAS — The merger of Phillips Pet Food & Supplies with Animal Supply Company (ASC), announced on Feb. 25, was officially terminated on Aug. 25. The distributors cited “uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic” in the decision.

“Phillips and ASC remain committed to supporting their individual retailer customers and brand partners going forward,” the companies said in a joint statement.

This comes shortly after ASC announced on Aug. 20 it had received $40 million in capital to accelerate its digital and traditional offerings for the pet industry.
