BOSTON — Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. on Aug. 18 became the latest human food and beverage brand to enter the pet industry with the launch of Tally-Ho™ functional water enhancers for dogs.

Tally-Ho was created by Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc.’s Lighthouse Incubator, an in-house accelerator program through which the company develops and rolls out innovative products for the health and wellness markets.

The company launched Tally-Ho to “enhance the connection between dogs and humans” through functional health supplements, the company stated.

“We believe that our pets bring out the best in us and deserve the best from us,” said Santi Proano, director of the Lighthouse Incubator at Ocean Spray. “That’s why we created Tally-Ho, a brand that gives our pets a seat at the table with products that show them how much we love them. Our functional water enhancers promote emotional, oral, or immune health and are crafted to taste delicious and go down easy. Tally-Ho™ brand is dedicated to creating effective products to enhance the lives of our pets and inspire meaningful shared experiences with our furry companions.”

Tally-Ho water enhancers for dogs are intended for daily use to improve flavor while delivering active, functional ingredients. It is currently available in three formulas: Oral Health with zinc and mint to promote healthy teeth and fresh breath; Emotional Health with L-Theanine and chicken flavor to promote calm behavior; and Immune Health with vitamins C and E, zinc and salmon flavor to boost immune system health.

The products have launched as a pilot test in Boston, Massachusetts at all Polkadog locations in the area, as well as at Pet World in Natick, Mass., and on Indiegogo, a crowdfunding website. Each bottle is proportioned to last approximately two weeks depending on the size of the dog and frequency of feeding.

Ocean Spray is a co-operative owned by more than 700 cranberry farmers across the United States, Canada and Chile. The Lighthouse Incubator was founded in October 2019 with the launch of Atoka, a new plant-based health drink developed and launched by Ocean Spray through the incubator.
