HUDSON, WIS. — As it celebrates its 25th business anniversary, Ciranda Inc., an organic ingredient supplier, announced July 15 the appointment of Jean-Philippe Tournoy as chief executive officer.
Tournoy brings a career in global food ingredients to Ciranda, which offers non-GMO, fair-trade and organic ingredients for a variety of food applications, including pet food. The company specializes in gluten-free flours and starches, sweeteners, coconut products, vegetable oils, cocoa and chocolate ingredients, and fluid and powdered lecithins.
Throughout his career, Tournoy has held multiple global roles at Cargill, where he led operations and the company’s expansion of critical infrastructure. Most recently, he served as vice president of fruit-based foods and beverages at SunOpta, where he worked with organic and non-GMO agriculture systems.
Tournoy succeeds Hans Friese, Ciranda’s former chief executive officer and founder.
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve as the CEO of Ciranda,” Friese said. “I am humbled by the work of this great team and to see all they have accomplished together. I believe Jean-Philippe is the right person to build on this momentum as our next CEO.”
Tournoy added, “Ciranda’s undeniable passion for the organic industry and social equity is inspiring. I am thrilled to be able to offer my knowledge and leadership to this team.”
