BOULDER, COLO. — Premium pet food and treat brand, “I and love and you,” announced June 2 they have donated more than one million pet meals to animal shelters, pet food banks and other animal welfare organizations across the United States since 2016.
The company has provided an estimated 2,000 meals for pets to such organizations over the last four years. “I and love and you” has ramped up this philanthropy in recent months to help shelters cope with repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Love is our middle name – it’s at the forefront of everything we do, and it’s important to us as a company to show not only our own fur-children love, but the pets waiting to find their forever homes,” said Beau Mainous, chief executive officer of the company. “There are approximately 3.3 million dogs and 3.2 million cats that enter United States animal shelters each year, which is completely heartbreaking, so we made it our mission to help support these pets as much as we can by providing high-quality food for a healthy, happy life.”
Most recently, “I and love and you” provided just over 43,000 pet meals to Colorado Pet Pantry. This followed other increased donations of pet food and treat products to organizations including Life is Better Rescue, Frosted Faces Foundation and Hope Animal Rescue in Iowa.
“During these uniquely difficult times, we’ve seen the incredible need for supplies and donations as these shelters skyrocket,” Mainous said. “…We hope our contributions can help encourage others to keep these deserving organizations top of mind and help provide support where they can.”
