GOLDEN, COLO. — Smart Cookie Barkery, a from-scratch, family-owned small pet treat business, has launched two limited edition dog treats to benefit other small businesses in the Denver area. The company will allocate $5 from each purchase to the Denver Small Business Relief Fund, with the goal of raising at least $5,000.
“After seeing the effects COVID-19 has had on small businesses, we wanted to see if we could help fellow business owners, even if in a small way,” said Bri Bradley, co-owner of Smart Cookie Barkery. “After weeks of trying to utilize the resources of the CARES Act ourselves, and not succeeding, we quickly realized a lot of those dollars have gone to larger institutions, and those of us with actual ‘small’ businesses have been left behind.”
The fundraiser for these limited edition treats, Immunity boost and Muttos – The Fresh Licker, will run through May 31.
Immunity Boost treats are formulated with salmon, pumpkin, hemp seeds, blueberries, and other ingredients meant to support dogs’ immune systems. Muttos are designed to freshen dogs breath and are formulated with oat flour, flax seed, coconut oil, parsley and mint.
The dog treats can be purchased online through Smart Cookie Barkery’s website.
