READING, PA. — Rentokil is introducing a disinfection service to the food, beverage, foodservice and retail industries. The service is designed to protect employees and customers from the transmission of viruses, bacteria, fungi and mold, the company said.
Additionally, the company announced April 16 it will now offer disinfection services for businesses where workers have tested positive for COVID-19.
“We’ve seen such a high demand for disinfection service with our commercial customers,” said John Myers, president and chief executive officer of Rentokil. “The protection of their employees, customers and our service personnel is our top priority, and we are now able to help our customers get back up and running safely after a confirmed COVID-19 case.”
As part of this new coronavirus service, a certified specialist will first assess the facility for high risk areas, then determine the level of disinfection needed as well as the necessary PPE and other health measures to be implemented by disinfecting staff. The disinfecting process will utilize a range of tools, including liquid dispersal technology to treat contact services and other areas for COVID-19, SARS, MRSA, E. Coli, Salmonella and other pathogens.
Aside from inspection and disinfection for business that tested positive for COVID-19, Rentokil has also introduced cleaning services for all other businesses to protect against every day risks. The company is using ultra-volume disinfection foggers to disperse an environmentally friendly and hypo-allergenic disinfectant. The foggers create small disinfectant droplets, which treat such surfaces as floors, handrails and doorknobs, and large areas in a short time frame. The treatment inactivates pathogens in 10 minutes, according to the company.
“As many of our commercial customers remain in operation to serve the public in this unprecedented time in history, they understandably have concerns about keeping their staff and customers safe,” Myers said. “Our mission is to protect people and enhance lives, and we developed this service to help businesses disinfect safely, quickly and efficiently.”
The formula is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration and has no harsh fumes, according to the company.
“We want to be able to arm customers with the peace of mind of a safe and healthy work environment,” Myers said. “The disinfection service will help businesses reduce risk in this uncertain time and turn their focus back on their operations.”
