GREEN BAY, WIS. — Last fall, Massman Companies released its new EDL Model 22-45 single roll wrapping system, which is capable of wrapping up to 45 packages per minute. The system is compatible with trayed and tray-less pet food products, as well as dairy products, multipacks and other packaged products.
The company debuted the system at Pack Expo Las Vegas in September 2019.
The EDL Model 22-45 is designed to be reliable, consistent and dependable, and includes a welded tubular frame to control vibration and ensure repeatable wrapping and production throughput. The system accurately controls print registration, according to Massman.
The system can be integrated into an existing production line. The Model 22-45 can handle products as long as 16 inches, up to 12 inches high and 20 inches wide, the company said. It is applicable for 1.5 to 3 mm film, including clear plastic, random printed or print registered materials, in segments up to 55 inches by 22 inches.
The servo-driven, inline system is equipped with a shrink tunnel to finish the wrapping process with a seal. Products remain in continuous motion as they are wrapped, the film is cut and applied, which maximizes run efficiency and productivity.
