PAW PAW, Mich. — Nutri-Science America, a US-based vitamin supplement and premix company, has released VeriGEN, a vitamin premix available for pet food formulations. VeriGEN has been verified by a third-party to not be sourced in China.
“This is a first for the North American pet food industry,” commented Dr. Sebastian Gauza, managing member of Nutri-Science America. “Based on recently conducted independent research, we know that consumers overwhelmingly prefer pet food made without China-sourced ingredients.”
This comes as ingredient transparency becomes more and more important to pet owners. Ingredients used in VeriGEN premix are prepared by European manufacturers working in human food-certified or pharmaceutical facilities. The premix is also non-GMO.
Nutri-Science America’s own facility in Paw Paw tests the premix for contaminants, including heavy metals, yeast, mold or bacteria, using ICP spectroscopy, chromatography and other cutting-edge analysis methods.
“Soon there will be a range of VeriGEN vitamin-fortified products that retailers can recommend to their customers with confidence,” Gauza concluded.
