FORT DODGE, Iowa — Nestlé Purina PetCare is hosting a Women in Manufacturing Day today in Fort Dodge on the Iowa Central East Campus “for a day of empowering women in the field,” said the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance.
The Women in Manufacturing Day features networking events, educational opportunities and speakers from Nestlé Purina, IowaWORKS, Iowa Central Community College, Iowa State Extension and Linking Families and Communities.
Topics of discussion include “speed networking with employers,” resources for manufacturing success, creating a resume, preparing meals on a budget, and finding quality childcare.
Christine Summers, director of production engineering for Nestlé Purina, and Rhiannon Hankel, production operator for Nestlé Purina, provided welcoming statements at the event.
The half-day event is co-sponsored by IowaWORKS, the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and Iowa Central Community College.
Employers, employees and women looking for jobs in manufacturing were invited to attend.
