ARLINGTON, Va. — Cory Harris joined the American Feed Industry Association’s (AFIA) team Sept. 16 as manager of government affairs. Harris will manage government-related activities and ensure active legislative representation and member advocacy in this role.
Additionally, Harris will work closely with AFIA’s committees, as well as its board of directors, to keep them informed on legislative issues and plan advocacy initiatives.
Harris previously led day-to-day policy functions of grassroots membership organizations with the Indiana Soybean Alliance and Indiana Corn Growers Association before joining AFIA. Prior to that, he managed communications with congressional offices for advocacy and membership for Growth Energy.
“Cory brings several years of effective advocacy to the table as well as a passion to represent our industry,” said Leah Wilkinson, AFIA’s vice president of public policy and education. “We are very excited to see where he takes AFIA’s advocacy efforts and for him to join our legislative and regulatory team.”
Harris received his bachelor’s in applied agricultural economics and political science from Purdue University. He is originally from Portland, Indiana.
