SECAUCUS, N.J. — Freshpet, Inc. welcomed a new board member Sept. 27, Olu Beck, who will replace Jonathan Marlow following his resignation. Beck will officially join the board on Oct. 1, and she will also serve on Freshpet’s Audit Committee, according to the company.
Marlow, previously the chair of Freshpet’s Compensation Committee, will be succeeded by Board Member Daryl Brewster, who has been on the committee since 2011.
“On behalf of our board of directors, I would like to thank Jonathan for his significant contributions during his tenure as a director on our board. He was a very early supporter of Freshpet along with his team at MidOcean as they helped us navigate from a private to public company,” said Charlie Norris, chairman of Freshpet’s board. “Jonathan’s keen business insight and passion for Freshpet will be greatly missed.”
Beck brings 25 years of experience to her position on Freshpet’s board, having spent a career in senior and executive leadership roles of consumer packaged goods companies. She has worked at Mars, Incorporated, as well as Johnson & Johnson.
Most recently, Beck served as chief executive officer and a director of Wholesome Sweeteners, Inc. Currently, she sits on an Advisory Board for CH Briggs, a large distributor of specialty building materials in the US.
“We are very pleased to welcome Olu to our board of directors with her tremendous depth of consumer packaged goods experience in both the US and internationally,” Norris said. “We look forward to her future contributions and believe her strong operational, sales and marketing and financial background will provide valuable perspectives for our board of directors as Freshpet continues to execute on its strategic growth objectives over the next several years.”
Beck grew up in the United Kingdom, attended Oxford University and earned her master’s degree in law from the University College London.
