ARLINGTON, Va. — Lynette Tucker and Daisy Rodriguez were added to the American Feed Industry Association’s (AFIA) meeting and events team Aug. 15. Tucker will serve as the meetings and events specialist for the organization and Rodriguez will be the meetings and events coordinator.
Both Tucker and Rodriguez will help plan AFIA meetings and events, partner educational programs, committee meetings, board meetings, webcasts and other one-time events.
“Lynette and Daisy are both very experienced in administrative and event organization,” said Veronica Rovelli, AFIA’s senior director of meetings and events. “We are looking forward to having them join our team so we can continue to serve our members with exceptional service.”
Tucker will focus on sponsorships, researching venues, booking meeting rooms, coordinating speakers, managing promotional materials, menus, tours, audio-visual equipment needs, vendor contracts, hotel relationships and on-site management of meetings and events.
Most recently, Tucker provided event management, administrative and office management support for a number of small businesses and agencies. She has also worked in administrative roles at Plumbline Public Affairs, RML Strategies, Direct Design Communications, COSMOS Corporation and the Alabama Association for Justice.
Tucker earned her bachelor’s degree in management and accounting from the University of the East, Manila in the Philippines.
Rodriguez joins the AFIA in a newly created position, where she will be responsible for meeting registration functions such as set-up, support and management of registration technology and on-site registration. She will also be the primary contact for registration inquiries and exhibitor questions.
Rodriguez comes to AFIA from VersaTel Solutions, where she provided administrative and event support. She also brings experience from the Laurel Ridge Elementary School Parent Teacher Association, Road Runner/Time Warner Cable and the law office of Shapiro and Burson.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in government and politics and a paralegal certificate from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
