CHICAGO — The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) Women’s Alliance Network announced July 9 it has added a new program, Red Circle Honors, to recognize women and companies that have positively impacted the careers of women and overall gender equality in the food and beverage sector.
“It is truly amazing to see what the women of FPSA have accomplished in the past two years,” said Mary George, co-chair of the Women’s Alliance Network. “What started as an idea has grown into a network of more than 140 women who work in the food and beverage industry. This was the right time to launch the Women’s Alliance Network Red Circle Honors.”
Nominees will be accepted through Friday, Aug. 16, and honorees will be announced during the FPSA Women’s Alliance Network Breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 10 during PROCESS EXPO.
Women in the food and beverage industry can be nominated under four categories: Rising Star, for women with less than five years of experience in the industry; Innovation and Inspiration, for women who have introduced an innovative or inspiring idea to the industry or their company in the past 18 months; Career Excellence, for long-standing women in the industry who have proven dedication to both personal and professional development; and Achievement in Developing and Promoting Women, for one FPSA member company’s commitment to workplace gender balance.
Suzanne Strassburger, CEO of Strassburger Steaks, LLC and president of Suzy Sirloin, Inc., will be the keynote speaker during the Red Circle Honors Breakfast.
“We are proud of our Women’s Alliance Network and the wonderful work they are doing to inspire women in the industry and are excited they have introduced this important honors program to recognize the great work that is being done,” said David Seckman, president and CEO of FPSA.
