VANCOUVER, British Columbia — EastWest Bioscience announced June 25 it has officially begun developing CBD-infused dog and cat treats for the US market, to be produced, warehoused and distributed through the company’s own Kentucky-based EastWest Science USA facility.

The products, Chill Dog and Quick Cat, were introduced by EastWest on April 26. They will be sold under it's Natural Pet Science brand.

The company will continue to develop additional dog and cat treat products as it works to establish distribution relationships across the US. Its goal is to develop 12 hemp-based pet treat products in total, including six with CBD and six without CBD.

“The company views the growth estimates for CBD pet products as a significant and early trend in the CBD industry,” said Fanika Jovanovic Perika, global business development leader for EastWest Bioscience. We are speaking to several distributors and retailers who are very excited about our newest products.”

The company said it will model its US strategies off its Canadian strategies by first gaining brand awareness, then establishing distribution relationships.
