CINCINATTI — Flexible packaging manufacturer ProAmpac earned Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification at its Hartford, Wisconsin facility on May 24, making it the tenth SQF-certified ProAmpac plant in North America.
Efforts to achieve the certification began August 2018. During this 10-month period, an interdisciplinary group of Hartford facility employees developed an 11-part Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan, 22 new procedures, 16 programs and two policy statements.
“This is one more step in ProAmpac’s commitment to provide food-safe packaging to our customers from multiple facilities. Certification is driven by an increasing demand from food and pet food customers responding to market pressure and regulations,” said Adam Grose, chief commercial officer of ProAmpac.
The SQF program is recognized globally as a comprehensive analysis of food safety and quality standards at every level of the supply chain, from manufacturers to retailers and food service providers. SQF certification is issued by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
The Hartford facility produces flexible, direct-contact food packaging and flexible lawn and garden packaging.
