PORTLAND, Maine — Mars Petcare and Covetrus, an emergent global animal health technology and services company, have partnered to benefit veterinary physicians in the US and improve their services associated with dental health and administering medication to pets. As part of the partnership, US-based vets will be able to purchase Mars’ GREENIES dental treats and pill pockets products exclusively from Covetrus to offer to their pet parent clients.
Covetrus can offer veterinarians and their clients in-clinic or auto-ship deliveries of the GREENIES products.
“With our customer reach, differentiated go-to-market strategy and our industry-leading service organization, Covetrus is uniquely suited to partner with Mars Petcare to drive increased adoption of dental health solutions and medication administration tools for our customers and their clients,” said Matt Leonard, executive vice president, president of the North America region and global supply chain officer at Covetrus. “This new partnership highlights the opportunity we have at Covetrus to continuously help support veterinarians deliver cost-effective solutions and enhance their client experience.”
Covetrus is the result of a merger between Henry Schein Animal Health and Vets First Choice in December 2018. According to the two companies, the name was chosen to communicate how the two companies would work together (“co-”) toward promoting connectivity between vets and their clients (“vet”) as a team of third-party professionals (“us) leveraging helpful software, prescription management and engagement services, and supply chain infrastructure.
