Health Extension Pet Care has relocated its headquarters and distribution center to Hauppauge, New York, after purchasing a facility for $7.35 million. The new 55,000-sq.-ft. building is an upgrade from its previous 17,000-sq.-ft. plant in Deer Park, New York and will allow the pet food manufacturer to “double down” on its plans to expand operations and distribution, said Joel Katz, Chief Commercial Officer for Health Extension.
The manufacturer extensively renovated the Hauppauge facility in preparation for the move, which officially took place March 29, 2019. Some improvements included making the outside of the building more logistically efficient and gutting the warehouse to install new, state-of-the-art equipment, according to Katz.
All operations in Health Extension’s Deer Park facility have been moved to the new Hauppauge location.
“Moving into this new facility will give us the space we need to be more functional and efficient with all of our inbound and outbound logistics,” Katz explained, “as well as give us the space we need to ensure the reliability in our inventory/ordering system is able to meet or exceed the quality guidelines we have for those processes.”
Health Extension Pet Care was founded in 1963 and produces dry and wet pet food, as well as supplements and other pet care products.
