ANTWERP, Belgium— Looking to strengthen its position in North America, ingredient and chemical manufacturer Azelis has acquired Chemroy Canada Holdings, Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Brampton, Ont., Chemroy distributes specialty chemicals and food ingredients. The company offers warehousing across the country and has offices in Laval, Quebec, Vancouver and British Colombia.
"This transaction is an important milestone for Azelis in the Americas,” said Frank Bergonzi, chief executive officer and president, Azelis Americas. “We share similar values and culture, and this combination will ensure a more robust product portfolio to our customers."
With this acquisition, Azelis will be able to further its growth in North America, noted Joachim Müller, group c.e.o., Azelis.
“Chemroy's activities in the food and nutraceutical markets will allow us to expand this segment, by leveraging our relationships with global partners," he said.
Based in Antwerp, Azelis is an international supplier of food ingredients and chemicals. It produces bakery, beverage, dairy, sports nutrition, snack and pet food ingredients. The company was established in 1996 and has offices in North America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
