STAMFORD, Conn. — The American Pet Products Association (APPA) Young Professionals (YPs) will host a breakfast and education session on the pet industry during Global Pet Expo, featuring Connor Lokar as the principal speaker. Lokar is a program economist at ITR Economics who speaks around the world and consults with businesses, trade associations and Fortune 500 companies in many industries.
“As future leaders of the pet industry, it is important that young professionals have a firm understanding of the economy and its impact on the pet industry,” said Kaitlin Simonfay-Stewart, manager of trade show operations for APPA and a founding member of the APPA YPs. “Connor Lorkar’s economic insight, forecasting expertise and ability to easily connect with the next generation make him the ideal speaker to address the subject.”
Lokar will present an analysis of what the economy will look like in 2019 and beyond, including pet industry trends, business activity, trade, labor market trends, inflation, interest rates and other topics.
APPA YPs was founded as the pet industry’s first young professional program, according to APPA, and helps to promote career development for young professionals in the pet industry and provide networking and education opportunities.
All guests registered for Global Pet Expo are welcome to attend. The breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Orange County Convention center in Orlando, Florida.
