CHILLIWACK, British Columbia — Petcurean has repositioned its GO! Fit + Free line of pet foods as GO! Solutions Carnivore, including new packaging, two new dog food recipes and two new cat food recipes. This comes as “stage two” of the brand’s GO! Solutions packaging upgrade.
New recipes include Grain-Free Salmon and Cod and Grain-Free Lamb and Wild Boar, each with a recipe for dogs and cats that is appropriate for all life stages.
Key attributes of the new GO! Carnivore collection include high protein content (32% to 36% for dogs and 42% to 46% for cats), six to eleven animal proteins per recipe for maximum meat protein and high palatability, digestive enzymes, probiotics and prebiotic fiber and antioxidants. The recipes are also free from by-product meals, added hormones, artificial preservatives, wheat, corn or soy, and are grain- and gluten- free.
“A common misconception about protein is that it is the main source of energy,” said Annabelle Immega, trade marketing manager at Petcurean. “However, a pet’s body is much more efficient at converting carbohydrates and fat into energy, whereas protein’s primary purpose is for tissue and muscle repair during the recovery phase. The balance between carbohydrates, fat, and protein make the GO! CARNIVORE collection an excellent option for large or more active pets, helping to maintain energy levels, build strong, lean muscles, and produce well-formed stools.”
The original Fit + Free recipes, Grain-Free Chicken Turkey and Duck recipes for puppies, adult dogs, senior dogs, and cats, will now be sold under the GO! Carnivore brand with slight changes to the ingredients. Overall, the nutritional value, flavor and palatability of the formulas are basically the same. Petcurean sources meat proteins from cage-free chicken, duck, turkey, whole dried egg, grass-fed lamb, wild boar, salmon, herring, cod and trout.
