The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has urged consumers not to feed certain Hare Today Gone Tomorrow after they tested positive for Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The infected formula is Ground Chicken (identified as “Ground Chicken/Bones/Organs” on the manufacturer’s website), lot 12.04.2018, including the following sizes and varieties:

  • Ground Chicken/Bones/Organs, 1lb, Fine Ground
  • Ground Chicken/Bones/Organs, 2lb, Fine Ground
  • Ground Chicken/Bones/Organs, 3lb, Coarse Ground
  • Ground Chicken/Bones/Organs, 5lb, Fine Ground

The FDA collected samples of the product after receiving a consumer complaint in which a kitten became sick with Salmonella after consuming it. Although the strain of Salmonella in the sick kitten’s feces did not match the strain found in the product, the FDA still cautions consumers about the presence of pathogens in these products.
