The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has launched its new website to better communicate the legislative and regulatory priorities of the animal food manufacturing industry to the website’s 5,500 monthly visitors, including policymakers and the public. It is equipped with an optimized search function and resource center, as well as an advocacy section and easy access to facts, statistics and multimedia on the industry.
“One of AFIA’s four promises to members is that we will convey one powerful, unified voice that represents every segment of the animal food industry to members of Congress, federal regulators and the public,” said Victoria Broehm, director of communications for AFIA. “With AFIA’s Marketing Committee, the communications team developed a one-stop-shop online resource that provides even more information about the issues impacting America’s 6,200 animal food manufacturers and arms AFIA’s members with communications tools to be effective in their advocacy efforts.”
On the new website, which is optimized for mobile devices, policy issues are organized in five broad categories: the access and availability of technology; feed and food safety; the availability and cost-effectiveness of ingredients; global competitiveness; and health, safety and the environment. The new advocacy section gives members the ability to directly contact elected officials on policy issues, and hundreds of AFIA news releases, reports and guidance documents can be found in the resource center. AFIA members will have access to a new members-only dashboard, where they can easily update profiles, search for other members and pay dues. Additionally, visitors can register for events and search the AFIA’s Online Buyers’ Guide on the new website.
